Writing

Here are a few assorted PDF's, links, videos and lists in some way connected to music. I plan to expand these.

First up, the scale, chord and sight reading sheets I use in lessons.

AllJapaneseAllTheTime.com, one of the major influences on how I teach.

Some videos: TED talks on education and classical music; the author of the new 5-volume Oxford History of Western Music on why so much modern art is rubbish; and comedy troupe The Axis of Awesom's explanation of how every pop song is written using the same 4 chords (it's alarmingly close to being true).

Finally, a few lists: recommended listening for newcomers to jazz; some great classical pieces for amateurs; and some recommended sight reading books for beginners.
